Zack grew up in Concord and, after returning to the state in 2016, has spent the past six years putting down roots and working in various legislative and non-partisan advocacy roles.

As Executive Director, Zack is responsible for guiding the design and implementation of NHSFFP’s long-term vision, crafting policy strategies, overseeing the organization’s management and resource development, and leading its efforts to attain comprehensive, lasting, and equitable reform of New Hampshire’s school funding system. Prior to becoming NHSFFP’s Executive Director, Zack was the Outreach and Engagement Manager. He has worked with the Project since 2021.

Before joining NHSFFP, Zack was a Legislative Assistant in the New Hampshire House. As one of three staff members serving as many as 230 Representatives, he provided research and strategic input to multiple policy committees, facilitated trainings and caucuses for members, tracked legislation and voting records, drafted opinion pieces and testimony, and acted as the office liaison to the State House Press Corps. Prior to that role, Zack was a Field Organizer with the Campaign for a Family Friendly Economy where he played an instrumental role in building a statewide grassroots movement that, after decades of legislative defeat, passed paid leave legislation for the first time in New Hampshire history.

Outside the office, Zack completed the New Leaders Council (NLC) NH leadership development institute for young, progressive professionals in 2017. Following graduation from NLC, he served on the all-volunteer Executive Board for three years. As a Chapter Director he helped lead the organization to record setting fundraising levels, and expanded its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through intentional recruitment and support of diverse leaders. An avid Ultimate Frisbee player, Zack spends his summers playing on a co-ed club team he founded in 2017.

Casey joined the New Hampshire School Funding Fairness Project in 2022. Before joining the New Hampshire School Funding Fairness Project, Casey worked on a variety of issue based and electoral campaigns across the country. The Granite State has been Casey’s chosen home since 2018, she lives in a historic cottage in Concord, NH.

As our Outreach & Engagement Director, Casey is responsible for building relationships with communities, advocates, and key stakeholders in the state to educate and ultimately empower them to use their voices to fight for an equitable school funding model for students and taxpayers, regardless of their zip code. Casey is primarily responsible for the Project’s advocacy strategy and events program.

In addition to Casey’s work at the Project, Casey helped found State Street Kitchen- Concord’s only shared use commercial kitchen, aimed at providing resources for people who are getting small food businesses started. She is the owner of Carousel Concord, a rotating food pop-up based in our capital city that also offers private cheffing and catering. Casey wears many hats in the community outside of the Project and works with several locally owned food and beverage businesses in her spare time. She sits on the UNH Extension Advisory Council and the Creative Concord Committee.

Before joining the Project, Casey worked on a variety of electoral and issue-based campaigns in the Granite State and beyond. Most recently, Casey was the Vice President of Community Engagement at New Futures, advocating on accessible health care and substance misuse issues. Before that, she managed Leah Plunkett’s campaign for Executive Council in District 1– the most crowded Executive Council primary to date. Casey also worked as a Political Director on the 2020 Presidential campaigns, and as the Organizing Director for Colin Van Ostern’s Secretary of State race, where she helped organize & educate over 800 legislative candidates to elect a new Secretary of State for the first time in over 50 years. Before moving to New Hampshire, Casey focused on electoral and non-profit fundraising in Maryland and New Mexico.

Ashley joined the New Hampshire School Funding Fairness Project in July 2025. In her role, she is responsible for developing and executing NHSFFP’s short- and long-term communications strategies, expanding the organization’s digital presence, and helping shape the narrative around school funding equity in New Hampshire. 

Prior to joining NHSFFP, she served as Director of Communications and Education at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Portsmouth. As co-founder of The Choir School at St. John’s, she collaborated with local schools, administrators, counselors, and volunteers to offer a tuition-free after-school music program. 

Ashley fondly remembers family trips to the White Mountains throughout her childhood. Since moving to NH in 2011, she has fallen in love with NH’s natural abundance. She lives in Dover with her husband and two children.

Micaela grew up in Amherst and attended both public and private schools.  After spending time living in New York City, she returned to her home state in 2007.  She now lives in Dover with her husband and two kids, where she also serves on the Dover School Board.

As our Advocacy and Outreach Coordinator, Micaela builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders with a focusing on the public school community, special education advocates, and local elected officials.

Prior to joining NHSFFP in 2023, Micaela spent more than 10 years at home with her growing family.  During this time, she volunteered in several capacities, including serving as an Educational Surrogate for the NH Division of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF); taking a leadership role in her local PTA; volunteering in Dover’s school lunchrooms and libraries; and participating in local community advocacy groups related to mental health and racial equity.

As the parent of a teenager on the autism spectrum, Micaela has developed her skills as a disability advocate on behalf of her own family.  She is a graduate of UNH’s 2022 Leadership Series, and a 2023 LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities) fellow through the Institute on Disability.  During COVID, she helped create an online support community for families who were struggling with the stresses and logistics of remote learning.

Micaela and her family enjoy traveling and experiencing new cultures and historical landmarks; recent vacation destinations include Paris, Tokyo and Barcelona.
